JOHN CAMERON
FOUNDER, CAMERON FOUNDATION
John Cameron established The Cameron Foundation using the proceeds of the sale of Cameron Systems to Orc Software in 2006. Currently, the foundation donates around $700,000 each year to a range of charities, primarily in the areas of health, education, human rights, and disaster relief. John co-founded and works full-time, pro bono, for Talent Beyond Boundaries, The Talent Catalog and Pathway Club – all global responses to the current refugee crisis.
“Philanthropy is the rational response to wealth. When I sold my company, I wondered what else I would do – and giving was the best decision I made. People think philanthropy is all about giving, but you get so much from it. It’s such an inspiring space and I would advise anyone that they should be doing it.”
