You don’t need a perfect plan or a huge amount to have an impact. Hundreds of young people now have a safe home – because people chose to give in small ways.
That was one of the stories shared at Canva’s ‘Give with Purpose’ event, where StartGiving CEO Antonia Ruffell joined a panel in front of 130+ Canvanauts:
- Leigh McLeod brought Canva’s mission to be a force for good to life with practical examples and a reminder that gifts by staff will be matched by the Canva Foundation.
- Kate Bowditch from Australian Philanthropic Services showed how structured giving can be far simpler than most people assume.
- Liz Cameron-Smith brought impact to life with the difference that philanthropy makes to the lives of young people at The Foyer Foundation.
- Antonia shared why StartGiving exists – and how we find that the tech community has a real appetite to give.
They all shared the same message. Start small, think about giving your time as well as money, and learn as you go, and you’ll want give more as your capacity grows.
