Bill Gates, in conversation with Daniel Petre for the StartGiving podcast, talks about his advice to tech founders as to how much of their wealth they should allocate to supporting causes.
“Daniel: Even in the case of someone with…50 or $100 million of wealth, and they said to you, ‘Hey, Bill, how much to allocate?’ What would your advice be?
Bill: Well, I think the ideal, if you can make it work, is even at that level to give half away…Certainly, if you get to much larger levels, up to hundreds of millions, then I would say pretty strongly you ought to be getting above 50%.”
